I lost my MAC virginity... and a haul!

Well I'm happy to say that I'm back on the blogging scene after a month of assignments, dissertations and exam revision keeping me extremely busy, and first things first... A haul!

After all the stress of being a final year student, I took myself to Selfridges in Birmingham last weekend for a little retail therapy, and I came back with some gorgeous new treats to tell you guys about.

My first ever MAC product, the Sheertone Pink Swoon Blush. It's perfect for my pale complexion and I have finally thrown my horrible old blush away. The one I used to use was just a random one by Bourjois and it was a rosy pink with peachy undertones and a little shimmer. Not the right tone for me, and to be honest, it made my cheeks look slightly orange, which is a look that I will never want.

Pink Swoon gives me that very simple flush of baby pink colour and I am loving that "dolly" like complexion on pale faces at the moment, so I decided to go for it!
After absolutely loving this product, I obviously want to jump properly on to the MAC bandwaggon, so if anyone can recommend any staple products for those with paler skins, it would be so very appreciated!

Next up, I am really into maxi-dresses right now, so I bought two to take on holiday in June. They are both halterneck dresses, with an empire shape, basically meaning they are gathered under the bust, or at the smallest part of the waist which really emphasizes the curves and provides a gorgeous silhouette!
One of the dresses is purple/pink/black/white in colour and has a very pretty print detail, also with sequin band detailing around the straps which you tie around the neck.
The second dress is white with a black band around the bottom hem, and has again some very pretty black print detail, almost like a paisley print, along with a colourful floral design.
Both dresses were purchased in New Look and cost around £25-£30 and as I am a student, I got 20% (discount is usually 10% for students, this was just a double discount day.)

The final purchase can be separated in to four parts. I have been hearing great things about the Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex and so when I found a gift set containing four pretty expensive items all for the value-tastic price of £32 I almost hit the roof with excitement. We all know I am a skin care addict and so I could not resist... I will go over the items in order of usage, so here are the details:

Estee Lauder Perfectly Clean Splash Away Foaming Cleanser 50ml
This is gorgeously luxurious, and the size tube is going to last me at least a month, so its well worth getting it in the kit. It's creamy, non-drying and the smell is divine. It doesn't leave any residue whatsoever on my skin and even when I double-cleanse with it, my skin still feels soft and moisturised.

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex 15ml
This product is mainly what I bought the kit for. It is seriously raved about by all who use it, and as I am suffering with hormonal acne at the moment, I thought well what is the harm in trying. I use this straight after I have cleansed my face and before I moisturise, and in the space of a week, it has made a heck of a difference. I am still getting spots around my jaw line due to stress and crazy hormones, but using this makes the spots literally disappear after two days max, when using this product morning and night. It also really enhances the powers of my moisturiser too. This is an essential product, especially during winter when we all need that little extra luxury to keep our skin happy!

Estee Lauder DayWear Plus Multi-Protection Anti-Oxidant Creme SPF 15 50ml
I haven't really had much to do with this moisturiser yet, to be honest, as I'm not going out in the sun much due to revision and university commitments, and prefer to use my Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Gel for during the day whilst in the house. I will say, however, that it has the most refreshing cucumber scent, and smells so much better than my Clinique Super Defense SPF 25 moisturiser. Although the consistencies are similar.
The Estee Lauder creme is a minty green colour and seems more natural than the Clinique version, especially due to the idea that Clinique use a lot of parabens and strange chemicals in their products. I will try to do a full product review and maybe even a comparison of these two moisturisers once I am using them properly.

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Recovery Complex 5ml
Finally the eye cream. Well it seems like more of a gel, actually. And I didn't actually realise how much product you get for 5ml! It looks exactly the same as the Clinique All About Eyes eye cream, however, I am aware that the Estee Lauder product is a lot richer. I haven't actually used it yet as I am trying to use up my Clinique but I am excited to try it as I am expecting great things!

Overall, this is a really worthwhile kit to invest in if you fancy trying out some of Estee Lauders products. It was excellent value for money, particularly because I received a full size moisturiser which would usually be £33 alone. That is more than I paid for the whole kit!

Thanks for reading,

Much Love, Ashley x
